Cosydream Babymoov pillow - Warning (Review)

Thousands of parents wonder whether the plagiocephaly pillow or baby wrap pillows (cushions such as Cosydream Babymoov) work or are useful.

These cushions are purchased respectively, to prevent/cure flat-headedness of the infant and to try to getting a good night's sleep the infant (who may be suffering from colic/reflux).

La reply short to the question "are these pillows useful?" è 'unfortunately, no'.

But I'll tell you more; not only are these pillows ineffective, but also dangerous!

Cosydream babymoov pillow and gaseous colic

symptoms of colic

Parents often buy soft, snug pillows on which to place their baby to help him sleep and/or soothe himself.

Hammering advertisements, tiredness and lack of parental sleep are three perfect ingredients for impulse buying these pillows (super expensive).

But the question è: Is it worth buying a pillow that costs 50-100 euros to try to get the baby (who suffers from colic and/or reflux) to sleep?

The answer is NO.

Using a wrap-around pillow to put a crying, sick and belly-ache baby to sleep is USELESS, COUNTERPRODUCTIVE e DANGEROUS.

If your child struggles to sleep and criesThe solution is not to look for the best pillow to lay it on hoping to magically solve the problem.

La solution is to make your child well, by solving the gaseous colic and/or the gastroesophageal reflux that make him sick.

Consequently, the your baby will be fine and will have an optimal sleep-wake rhythm.

Plagiocephaly and Cosydream babymoov pillow

Read carefully the message sent to me by a mum on Instagram...

The wrap-around pillows (see The plagiocephaly pillow with the hole, but also the cosydream babymoov pillow) being concave envelopingIt restricts the movement of the child's neck and increases the support surface of the head, reasons why the pillow increases the risk of flatten the infant's head. 😱

Flat head and positional plagiocephaly are created due to postural errors unknowingly put into practice by the parent (incorrect use of the carrycot, bouncer, sofa, cushions, infant carrier, etc.) or due to postural attitudes of the infant (e.g. torticollis).

So, if a child uses the plagiocephaly pillow, but adopts incorrect postural attitudes, a flat head will still be created!

Le root causes why a child develops a flat head are:

1. Incorrect postural attitudes unknowingly practised by parentse.g. improper use of the bouncer, the couch, the baby seat, the cushionspositioning in the arms or cradle, etc.

bouncer and risk of plagiocephaly

2. Incorrect postural attitudes practised by the child (of which the parents are not aware): for example the presence of a myogenic torticollis of the baby (don't worry, I'll show you how to spot it immediately if your baby has it and how to solve it promptly)

An infant who always keeps his head turned to the same side and is therefore at risk of developing positional plagiocephaly (flattening of the head in its postero-lateral occipital region)

This explains why it is safe to say that a flat head is completely preventable. So, the only real way is to know the correct postural recommendations to put into practice from birth!
